This year there have been a number of events to mark the countdown to the crucial US summit which takes place in Copenhagen in December. These events were organised by the groups Friends of the Earth and Stop Climate Chaos. So far the groups have organised the Human Hourglass on Sandymount beach this summer where 1000 people joined together to mark the six month countdown to Copenhagen.

In September they organised Konga 4 Climate which took place at this years Electric Picnic festival. Hundreds of people joined the Konga line to show their support for the cause. There will be lots of other events and flashmobs happening here in Ireland during the countdown to the crucial UN climate summit in Copenhagen this December.
